Summer & Anthony’s wedding at The Pines Event Center in Rhinelander, WI was the perfect mix of timeless elegance, family-centered celebration, and a little bit of Northern Wisconsin unpredictability. A warm summer day gave way to a quick rainstorm just before the ceremony—but instead of dampening the mood, it added an unforgettable layer to the story of the day. Everyone rallied, the skies cleared, and the rest of the celebration unfolded beautifully beneath the tall trees of The Pines.

Located just outside of Rhinelander, The Pines Event Center is one of the area’s fantastic year round venues. It offers a private woodland setting, open green spaces, and a spacious indoor reception hall for large receptions. The style is warm and welcoming with rustic-feel. Surrounded by pines and far from the noise, it’s an ideal location for couples who want a peaceful, nature-filled backdrop for their wedding day that can all take place at one location. Summer wore an ethereal gown with soft layers of flowing tulle that seemed to float with every step. Her style was effortless and romantic—perfectly paired with the natural surroundings. And the florals? Absolutely unforgettable.
Designed by Nick Peter Weddings, the floral work throughout the day was lush, full of movement, and totally breathtaking. The bouquet was a mix of soft, romantic blooms with plenty of texture and greenery. The ceremony arch was overflowing with fresh florals that framed the wooded setting in the most beautiful way.
A Ceremony with a Twist
Just before the ceremony began, the skies opened up in true Wisconsin fashion. Guests huddled in cars and under umbrellas and the staff quickly adapted. As soon as the rain passed, the chairs & benches were dried, the decor reset, and Summer walked down the aisle with the sun peeking through the trees—creating one of the most memorable and heartfelt ceremonies I’ve had the joy of photographing. The Groom’s father even officiated!
