What inspired you to start your business?
“Hey Justin, what inspired you to start your business, and how does your passion shine through in your work?”
“I’ve been passionate about music ever since I was a child. I started playing drums at the age of 8, and eventually I played in live bands along with producing, singing and recording music. In 2009, I was asked to DJ for my cousin’s wedding. I found my niche and my business began to grow. Every wedding I do, I learn and grow, and LOVE creating memories for everyone. I am blessed with my career, and love my job.”
What sets you apart?
As a Northern Wisconsin D.J., what sets you & your services apart from others in the industry, and what unique elements do you bring to weddings?
“I believe what sets me apart from others, is my eagerness to grow as an entertainer. I now offer DJ services and emceeing, two photo booths, a 360 video booth, cold sparks, silk flames and an LED illuminated dance floor.”
Could you share a memorable experience or success story from a wedding day?
“One of my many memorable experiences with the bride and groom was at their wedding while I was DJing. Their 92 year old grandfather wanted to sing a Tony Bennett song. I downloaded it on the fly and brought my microphone out to him. He sang as he sat in his wheelchair and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. After he was finished, the groom looked at me and said, ‘You created a memory that will last my family a lifetime. Thank you.’ “
Collaborating with other wedding vendors on the day
How do you collaborate with other wedding vendors, such as photographers, to ensure a seamless and beautiful wedding day for couples?
“I am type A, and I run a tight ship, however when it comes to working with other wedding vendors, I am laid back and go with the flow. We all need to work together to make the bride and groom’s day as smooth as possible.”
As a wedding photographer who has worked with Justin. I can vouch for his laid back but very professional style. My tips for planning a great wedding day timeline perfectly mesh with Justin’s timeline. This results in a relaxed vibe and we’re always on time. Let’s be honest, no one wants to be rushed or late for anything on their wedding day.
As a Northern Wisconsin DJ, What are your tips for weddings?
What advice or tips do you have for couples when choosing services for their wedding day, and how can they best incorporate your services into their vision?
“My advice to newly engaged couples is to do your research on vendors before reaching out to them. Read reviews and ask friends if they’ve seen their work in person. Don’t be afraid to ask the vendors as many questions as you can. It’s a one-time decision to make.”

What trends are you currently seeing for weddings and how do you tailor your services to each unique couple?
“Trends I see lately, are fun games like the cake smash, scavenger hunt, bride and groom quick photos with family tables, and the first dance taking place before dinner. I tailor my service by asking in depth questions to my clients. Getting to know a couple on a personal level to learn about their taste in music and learn about the vision they have for their wedding day is so important and key to wedding day success.”
Can you share any suggestions for those working within a specific budget but still want to achieve a memorable wedding aesthetic with your services?
“I would suggest if the couples are on a budget, that even though it may be out of their price range, it may be worth saving up to hire the vendors they desire as it’s such an important decision. Some common misconceptions about DJs, are that they simply play music. I show through my work and performance, that there’s so much more to it. I call myself the “behind the scenes director” as I organize, plan and keep the events of the wedding flowing until the end of the night.”
