We love an Eagle River Cabin Wedding and we absolutely love INTIMATE cabin weddings! Clare & Tom chose to get married surrounded by their closest friends & family at Clare’s parents’ riverside cabin. The relaxed setting was the perfect scene for their celebration.
As we made our way to their Eagle River Cabin Wedding site… down a two track rustic road, we thought “Wow! This has got to be the most rustic road we’ve ever driven down to a wedding”. Upon rounding the final corner, we saw their quaint red cabin perched high on the hill overlooking the river and their big white wedding tent nestled in the trees below. This whole location delighted!
The day started out with Clare & Tom getting ready in separate spaces, helped by their parents and then moved on to their special first look. They couldn’t stop smiling and laughing when they saw each other because….JOY was the word of the day. We took a walk with them down the long road because it is one of their favorite places and you should always take a walk together on your wedding day, especially in one of your favorite places! We took photos in the woods and in all the other special places that mean the world to them. They chose not to have a wedding party, so we took lots of extra time just walking, exploring, talking and capturing them in their element. This is the beauty of a first look because you actually get to spend whole wedding day together.
I love how casual and classy they planned things so the day would feel very relaxed. To help keep the day organized and relaxed they chose Marsha at Distinctly Yours Wedding Planning & Coordination to help plan all the details of their day. I can’t say enough good things about the wedding coordination & planning. https://www.stevenspointweddingplanner.com . She is the QUEEN of cabin weddings, and the Queen of wedding planning in general, so you should definitely check her out if you’re planning a wedding anywhere in Wisconsin.
When it came to the ceremony time, everyone walked down to the river for a standing ceremony surrounding Clare & Tom and it was so special. I loved how it felt to have everyone so close together because it made the ceremony feel so participatory. Big smiles, laughter, tears… it was all there.
I think that is what really hit me about this wedding. They made their wedding personal and didn’t follow “the rules”.
So, make your wedding your own. Don’t follow “the rules”. You don’t need to have a wedding at a big venue. You don’t need to wear a veil or tie, you don’t have to have bridesmaids & groomsmen. Guests don’t need to sit for the ceremony. Do what works for you, in the space you’re holding your event. Cut out all the things that seem complicated and stressful. Keeping it simple can be a dream! A cabin wedding can be the perfect place for one of the best days of your life.
